Adani Power to build USD 3 bn, 2,400 MW plant in Bihar with 25-year pact

Adani Power has announced plans to establish a 2,400 MW ultra super-critical power plant in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district, Bihar, with an investment of USD 3 billion (around INR 26,482 crore). The company has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. to provide electricity from the new facility. The project, awarded under the lowest bid rate of INR 6.075 per KWh, will follow a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced BHIM VEGA, a UPI-based payment feature, within its Sarthi app in partnership with NPCI BHIM Services Limited. The update enables passengers to register UPI IDs, link bank accounts or RuPay cards, and complete secure payments directly inside the app. Along with this feature, the app also supports booking of the Jai Hind Sound and Light Show at Red Fort, ticketing with Noida Metro and DTC through ONDC, and digital recharge of RuPay NCMC cards. With nearly seven million journeys each day and most commuters already using digital ticketing, the new feature is expected to reduce queues and encourage wider adoption.Read more
