Synopsis

Rajesh Power Services, a specialised EPC firm in the power transmission and distribution sector, announced earlier this week that it had secured an order worth INR 143 crore from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL). The contract covers the conversion of overhead high-tension networks into underground and medium voltage covered conductor systems across Valsad city, Valsad rural and Surat rural, under the utility's System Improvement scheme.

Rajesh Power Services, an established player in engineering, procurement and construction, confirmed earlier this week that it had received an INR 143 crore order from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL). The scope of work under this order includes transforming the existing 11/22kV high-tension overhead power network into an underground cable or medium voltage covered conductor (MVCC) system.

The project is set to be implemented under the System Improvement (SI) scheme, a programme that focuses on enhancing power reliability and infrastructure. The areas covered by the contract include Valsad city, Valsad rural, and Surat rural regions under DGVCL's jurisdiction.

Rajesh Power Services Limited (RPSL), known for its expertise in power transmission and distribution projects, stated that this development aligns with its growing portfolio of utility-focused infrastructure upgrades.

By undertaking the conversion of overhead networks into underground and MVCC systems, the company will contribute to improving power infrastructure in Gujarat. This project not only marks another milestone for RPSL's ongoing expansion but also highlights the continuing emphasis on reliable and modernised electricity distribution systems in the state.
