The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out demolition drives in Airoli and Koparkhairane after occupants ignored earlier notices against unauthorised constructions. In Airoli, illegal work on three Sector 2 plots by Nitin Vaman Nagral was razed, with officials also collecting a INR 75,000 penalty. In Koparkhairane, partial demolition was undertaken at House No. 366, owned by Hemchandra Dhondiram Mhatre, along with a INR 15,000 fine. Both operations, supervised by senior civic officials and supported by police, used heavy equipment and labour teams. The Prime Minister visited Madhya Pradesh on his birthday and laid the foundation for a PM MITRA textile park in Dhar district. This will be the second time he spent his birthday in the state, following the release of cheetahs at Kuno National Park under Project Cheetah last year. The textile hub will be set up at Bhensola village in Badnawar tehsil and is expected to attract significant investments. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will restart work on 574 partially completed roads from October 1, prioritising stretches in South Mumbai, Bandra, Santacruz, Kandivli, Charkop, Khetwadi, and Tejpal Road in D Ward. The civic body will also review 776 proposed roads under tender evaluation. Nearly 25 roads have been removed from plans due to narrow widths or local opposition, with some resurfaced in asphalt. A public dashboard will provide zonewise and wardwise progress, ongoing updates, and expected timelines. Final safety checks have begun on the first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 2B, with the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety inspecting a 5.39 km stretch from Mandale to Diamond Garden. Covering five stations-Mandale, Mankhurd, BSNL, Shivaji Chowk, and Diamond Garden-the review will clear the way for passenger operations by late September, subject to compliance. Trial runs have already been completed, and the depot is ready for operations. The remaining 18.2 km stretch up to D N Nagar is 88% complete, with operations expected in early 2026. Once fully functional, the 23.6 km Yellow Line will serve 20 stations and carry over one million passengers daily.Read more

Prayagraj has expanded its commercial development scope by including 42 major roads under the Master Plan 2031, allowing property owners to convert buildings into commercial spaces. The expansion goes beyond the earlier plan, which covered 29 roads, aiming to stimulate local business growth and employment. Adani Power has secured a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project in Madhya Pradesh, investing around INR 21,000 crore. The project includes an additional 800 MW awarded under a first-of-its-kind greenshoe mechanism, following the earlier 800 MW contract. Both units will be developed under the DBFOO model and are expected to be operational within five years. The Union Government approved the development of the Mokama-Munger section of the Buxar-Bhagalpur high-speed corridor in Bihar, with an investment of INR 4,447.38 crore. The project, spanning 82.4 km, will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode. The approval was granted during a Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Once completed, the corridor will enhance connectivity between key cities, including Mokama, Barahiya, Lakhisarai, Jamalpur, Munger, and Bhagalpur.Read more

State-owned NBCC Ltd has entered into an agreement with the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) to take forward the 'Naveen Nagpur' project. The understanding, signed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, appoints NBCC as project management consultant for the development. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has revised its building bylaws to align with the Airports Authority of India's (AAI) height regulations for areas surrounding the Noida International Airport in Jewar. Under the updated rules, all constructions within a 20 km radius must comply with the guidelines of AAI's Colour-Coded Zoning Map (CCZM). Runway RW 10/28 at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is scheduled to reopen this month after being closed for three months to complete upgrade works. The runway was initially supposed to be upgraded in May but was kept open due to congestion. It was later shut in mid-June for a detailed upgrade. The work included making the runway CAT III compliant by upgrading its Instrument Landing System, which will allow aircraft to land in fog and low visibility.
