Macquarie Asset Management has started selling its portfolio of nine toll road projects in India, valued at around INR 10,000 crore. Spanning 648 km across Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, these highways include stretches of NH-16 and roads connecting industrial hubs and ports. The assets have been bundled into three groups to attract a wider range of buyers. Acquired in 2018 through India's first Toll-Operate-Transfer (ToT) auction, the projects generated nearly INR 1,000 crore in toll revenue in FY25. Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has initiated the transfer of Gurugram's rapid metro operations from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, with joint management in place during the transition. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced that the 20-km Mumbai Monorail network will be shut from September 20 for a two-month upgrade programme. India has lowered GST on renewable energy equipment from 12 percent to 5 percent, a step expected to reduce project costs and free up investment worth INR 1-1.5 lakh crore for adding the remaining 300 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. Goa has inaugurated its first hazardous waste treatment plant at Pissurlem in Sattari, developed at a cost of INR 125 crore by Ponda Envocare Limited. The facility can handle 25,000 metric tonnes annually of landfillable and co-processing waste, plus 14,000 tonnes of incinerable waste, using a rotary kiln incinerator with real-time emission monitoring. Designed to prevent soil and water contamination, it integrates landfill, incineration and pre-processing units for safe disposal. Nearly 80% of the workforce are local residents employed across operations, labs, and administration, creating jobs and technical expertise.
