The underground section of Patna Metro's Blue Line, part of Corridor II, is making steady progress and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Stretching 7.9 km from Rajendra Nagar to Patna Junction, it will feature six underground stations. Four tunnel boring machines are actively working, with around 2 km of tunnelling remaining. Civil construction at the stations has reached about 40 percent. Once completed, this section will seamlessly connect with the operational elevated corridor, extending metro services along the full 14 km route and enhancing urban transit across the city.Read more

Bengaluru's Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has begun using robotic inspection systems to check underground sewer lines, reducing the need to dig up roads and lowering maintenance costs. Rolled out recently, the technology has been deployed across 38 locations to accurately find blockages, cracks and other faults. The move has sped up repairs, reduced disruption to traffic, and improved safety by limiting manual entry into confined spaces. Indian Railways has expanded its digital and safety infrastructure by providing free WiFi at 6,117 stations nationwide, enabling passengers to access the internet through a simple mobile OTP verification. Nagpur's road between Zero Mile and Automotive Square will be redeveloped using high-quality cement concrete to ensure it remains pothole-free for at least 25 years. The project, part of broader city road improvements, includes modern drainage systems, wider footpaths, and dedicated cycle tracks. Similar concrete upgrades are planned for the Poddareshwar Ram Mandir Pardi Square corridor. A 6.1 km Central Avenue stretch is also being upgraded. The Maharashtra government has approved a state-level committee to address encroachments across Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's heritage sites. Chennai has outlined a long-term transport vision under its Comprehensive Mobility Plan, proposing an investment of INR 2.27 lakh crore across the Chennai Metropolitan Area. The Indore Metro project has revised its alignment, with the stretch between Khajrana Square and the airport now planned entirely underground.
