The Ministry of Railways has approved the addition of third and fourth lines on the Badlapur Karjat suburban section under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project 3B (MUTP 3B), following clearance from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and agreement from the Maharashtra government. Spanning 32.46 km and covering six stations, the project is estimated at INR 1,324 crore, with funding shared equally between the Railways ministry and the state government. Executed by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC), the project will require around 37.79 hectares of land and aims to reduce congestion, improve train scheduling, and support both suburban and freight operations.Read more

Two IndiGo flights operating from Delhi and Mumbai to Hyderabad were diverted to Vijayawada after dense fog reduced visibility at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The National Highways Authority of India has decided to remove the mandatory Know Your Vehicle verification for new FASTag issuances in the passenger vehicle category from February 2026.
