Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has completed the acquisition of the North Queensland Export Terminal (NQXT) in Australia, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. The Ara-Sasaram rail line doubling project in western Bihar has entered the execution phase, with survey and land acquisition work accelerating in Bhojpur and Rohtas districts. The 110 km corridor, costing around INR 700 crore, aims to ease congestion on the busy Danapur Pt DDU line and improve passenger and freight operations. Joint surveys with district administrations are underway to speed up land handovers. Uttarakhand's Public Works Department (PWD) plans to strengthen 235 bridges across nine districts on state highways at an estimated cost of INR 1,640 crore, with work scheduled to start in July 2026. The project, supported by the Asian Development Bank, aims to raise load bearing capacity to class A for heavier civilian and defense traffic, widen narrow bridges, and address landslide prone stretches. Out of 585 bridges assessed, only 111 currently meet class A standards. Developed by Geospatial Delhi Limited under the IT Department, DAMIS aims to create a reliable, digitised inventory of government assets, enabling better planning, utilisation, and monitoring. Officials have appointed nodal officers, provided training, and issued user credentials. Titagarh Rail Systems has unveiled India's first driverless metro trainset for the Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project, manufactured at its Uttarpara facility in West Bengal with approximately 70-75% local content. Ranchi is planning to install high-speed traffic cameras at around 40 accident-prone locations across the city to improve road safety and curb traffic violations. The proposed project, estimated to cost over INR 5 crore, is currently at a preliminary stage, with authorities finalising locations such as major flyovers, Ring Road stretches and busy corridors. The move will expand the existing surveillance network, which covers about 10 key junctions. The cameras will automatically detect overspeeding and signal violations, enabling real-time challan generation and reducing manual enforcement.
