Maharashtra is preparing to allocate around INR 6,000 crore to acquire land for the Purandar airport near Pune, with the state administration finalising approvals. Compensation proposals include INR 1 crore per acre, extra for on-site assets, fruit-bearing trees, and 10% developed land. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to open a large part of the 43 km Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari highway by mid February, offering a smoother route for commuters and freight traffic. While most of the main carriageway is complete, key structures such as the railway overbridge near Pahari village and a flyover at Dwarka Expressway junction will open later due to delays in approvals and utility shifting. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has launched a two-year citywide programme to systematically recarpet and repair major roads, aiming to fix potholes, uneven surfaces and ageing pavements. Titagarh Rail Systems has won an INR 273.24 crore contract from Indian Railways for 62 Rail Borne Maintenance Vehicles (RBMVs), covering design, manufacturing, supply, testing, commissioning, and full lifecycle maintenance. The project also includes training Indian Railways staff and providing servicing and breakdown support. Deliveries are expected to start within 15 months and conclude within 48 months.
