The Thane collector has identified 10 land parcels across Thane district, covering over 85 hectares, to relocate slum-dwellers from Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). These include locations in Ambernath, Shahpur, Kalyan, and Mumbra and have been submitted to the Bombay High Court. The move is part of a larger initiative to comply with the court's directive to rehabilitate SGNP slum residents, a task pending since 2011. An affidavit submitted in court noted that 312 commercial and residential structures in SGNP were deemed ineligible for relocation due to discrepancies in documentation and eligibility.

The Bombay High Court has directed the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to resume the demolition of an illegal ground-plus-three-floor building in Uthalsar, Thane (W), and take action against Assistant Municipal Commissioner Bhalchandra Ghuge for allegedly protecting the structure. The court criticised the delay in execution despite the Supreme Court upholding the demolition order. The judges instructed TMC to act within a week and ordered the police to provide necessary support. The Bombay High Court has granted Sheth Developers permission to complete Building No. 8 in the Vasant Lawns project, Thane, after quashing a previous injunction by the district court. The injunction had halted construction due to disputes over revised plans and allegations of non-compliance with the Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act (MOFA).
