A five-member team from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) recently visited Srikakulam district to evaluate land for a proposed airport, following Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's initiative. Led by Deputy General Manager Parvinder, the team inspected potential sites in Mandasa and Vajrapukotturu mandals. Accompanied by local officials, they visited several villages to assess factors like land availability, natural resources, residential areas, and population density. The team also consulted with various departments regarding water resources and mining activities. Based on their evaluation, both mandals were considered suitable for the proposed airport project due to their strategic location and available land.Read more

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is advancing two significant infrastructure projects: the second phase of the Coastal Road and the Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road (DBLR), together valued at INR 20,648 crore. The Coastal Road's second phase, spanning 22.93 kilometers from Versova to Dahisar, includes bridges, flyovers, and tunnels and awaits final environmental clearance from the forest department. This follows the successful completion of the first phase, operational since March 2024. Complementing the Coastal Road, the 5.6-kilometer DBLR will connect Dahisar to Bhayander, with sections under both BMC and MBMC jurisdiction. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved transformative projects to enhance connectivity, infrastructure, and renewable energy. The 14-kilometer Purple Line metro project in Kolkatta is expected to be completed by late 2028 or early 2029. The arrival of tunnel-boring machines (TBMs) is expected in December, with operations beginning by March 2025.
