The six-laning of the 20-kilometre stretch of Mumbai-Agra highway between Gonde and Pimpri Sado is now scheduled for completion by December 2026, earlier than the original March 2027 deadline. NHAI has accelerated the work to handle the expected surge of pilgrims during the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, particularly in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. The stretch connects to the Samruddhi Expressway, which will facilitate smoother travel. Post-Mela, the highway will be further expanded up to Vadpe, improving regional connectivity and supporting traffic management during major events.Read more

Thiruvananthapuram is set to revamp underutilized spaces beneath the Chackai-Enchakkal flyover, turning them into safe, visually appealing, and culturally reflective public areas. The INR 6.1 crore Smart City project covers 14,694 square meters and includes art installations, decorative lighting, landscaping, and streetscape enhancements. Spatial zoning will guide the use of narrow, medium, and wide sections, with features ranging from shade-tolerant plants to sculptural landscaping and vertical art walls. Navi Mumbai International Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on October 8, following clearance from the DGCA. The airport is being developed in five phases by Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd, with the Adani Group as the majority stakeholder and CIDCO holding a minority share. Gautam Adani recently visited the site, meeting the workforce that contributed to its construction and acknowledging their efforts. Once fully operational, the airport will accommodate 90 million passengers annually and handle 3.2 million tonnes of cargo, establishing it as a major aviation hub in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Asia.Read more

Nagpur Metro has started building Maharashtra's longest balanced cantilever (CLC) bridge along the Reach-3A Hingna corridor under Metro Phase-2. The 271-meter bridge will cross the Vena river without any piers in the water, using a specialized construction technique to ensure stability while preserving the river ecosystem. Developed by Kalpataru Projects International Limited with design by KPIL's Ayesa team and independent validation by VNIT Nagpur, the bridge is part of a INR 378 crore project with seven stations. The Kerala government has sanctioned INR 17.31 crore for the 600-meter HMT-NAD stretch under the second phase of the Seaport-Airport Road project. The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK) will issue tenders once technical approvals are completed. Land acquisition for this section and the 6.5 km NAD-Mahilalayam stretch is progressing, with compensation for 90% of the 529 landholdings expected soon. Earlier allocations include INR 32.26 crore for the NAD section and INR 569.34 crore from KIIFB for land acquisition, aiming to improve connectivity to Kochi airport and ease traffic congestion.Read more

Navi Mumbai International Airport has received its aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, enabling the project to move towards operational readiness. The licence was issued after the airport met regulatory and safety requirements.
