Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth INR 36.50 crore in Ganderbal district. The initiatives cover sports infrastructure, power supply, and road connectivity, aiming to enhance local facilities and improve daily life for residents. Key projects included stadium upgrades, new playfields, a 33/11 kV power receiving station, synthetic athletic tracks, and multiple road construction and upgradation works. These efforts highlight the government's focus on strengthening infrastructure and promoting balanced regional development in Ganderbal.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah recently inaugurated and laid foundation stones for more than a dozen development projects totaling INR 36.50 crore in Ganderbal district. These projects aim to strengthen sports facilities, improve power supply, and enhance road connectivity, supporting the district's overall development and public convenience.
At Beehama, six significant sports infrastructure projects were inaugurated, including upgrades to Beehama Stadium, Madr-e-Meherban Stadium, and playfields at Gund Rehman, Manigam, Wakura, and Batwina. New sports equipment was unveiled, and the Chief Minister observed youth performances in Judo, Thang-Ta, and Yoga, emphasizing skill development and encouraging active participation in sports.
In Saloora, Abdullah dedicated a 33/11 kilovolt, 1x6 Megavolt-Ampere receiving station to the public, enhancing the local power distribution network. At the Government College of Physical Education in Gadoora, a pre-fabricated indoor badminton hall, a 400-meter synthetic athletic track, and a synthetic football turf were inaugurated. Abdullah participated in a friendly badminton match, flagged off a 100-meter girls' sprint, and joined the sprint himself, showcasing support for youth activities.
Additionally, four critical road projects were laid for construction or upgradation: Shajinga Link Road and Khatijinag Road, Dar Mohallah-Watalbagh-Dangerpora Road, Pati Waskura-Kharbagh Road, and Tehsil Bagh-Lar Bypass-Yanihama-Dangerpora Road. These developments are designed to improve connectivity across the district, facilitate smoother travel, and support local commerce and accessibility.
These projects form part of the administration's broader strategy to strengthen infrastructure in Ganderbal, reflecting a consistent commitment to providing better facilities and enabling sustainable development in the region.
