Gurgaon's district administration has kicked off the verification process for 6,743 affordable homes reserved for economically weaker sections (EWS) under the Haryana government's urban housing initiative, with 4,728 applicants cleared in the first phase. The 1-BHK flats, priced at a highly subsidised INR 1.5 lakh each, are located in private colonies and high-rise societies, providing access to planned, organised urban housing. Authorities received more than 120,000 applications for the units, and initial checks found a substantial number of submissions valid, advancing them to the next stage. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is moving forward with the construction of a six-lane underpass at Bakhtawar Chowk to reduce traffic congestion on the busy Subhash Marg corridor. The Gurugram Authority is exploring land allocation and real estate revenue options to improve the financial sustainability of the newly built Gurugram Metro. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) had earlier requested that land parcels along the metro corridor be studied for potential commercial and value capture development to generate revenue beyond fare collections. In response, the city's zonal office and chief town planner have been asked to examine suitable land allocation and value capture finance mechanisms that could include commercial development rights, increased floor area potential near stations, transit-oriented development, and other real estate-linked revenue streams. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has announced plans to set up a micro data centre to digitise the city's water supply network, officials said, as part of broader efforts to improve monitoring and reduce water losses. The centre will integrate geographic information systems (GIS), artificial intelligence, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and sensor technology to monitor water infrastructure in real time, allowing more precise tracking of supply, consumption and losses arising from leakages or theft. Gurugram will be divided into District Metered Areas (DMAs) to enhance the accuracy of data collection and enable quicker response to network faults. AIPL has acquired a 43-acre land parcel in Gurugram's Sector 103 on the Dwarka Expressway for INR 1,000 crore through the Debt Recovery Tribunal, allowing six banks to exit their exposure on the asset. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has temporarily stayed the Municipal Corporation of Manesar's order to shut and dismantle UltraTech Cement's ready-mix concrete (RMC) plant in Naurangpur village, Gurgaon. UltraTech challenged the directive, citing over two decades of lawful operations and valid statutory approvals, including change of land use and building plan permissions from 1998, as well as a green-category consent to operate from Haryana State Pollution Control Board in 2024. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally seized two ultra-luxury apartments in Gurugram valued at a combined INR 73 crore as part of an expanding money-laundering investigation linked to the Gensol Group and its associated entities.
