Synopsis

ACME Solar Holdings has placed a 2 GWh order for Battery Energy Storage Systems with Chuzhou Lishen New Energy Technology, facilitated by POSCO International and China FAW Group. The systems, to be delivered over six to ten months, will support ACME's FDRE and standalone storage projects slated for commissioning in the next twelve to eighteen months. With this latest order, ACME's total BESS procurement exceeds 5 GWh. The move reinforces ACME's commitment to renewable energy expansion while fostering collaboration with leading global energy and technology firms.

ACME Solar Holdings recently announced that it has placed an order for a 2 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with global energy system supplier Chuzhou Lishen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The procurement was made through POSCO International Corporation and China FAW Group Import and Export Co., Ltd.

The BESS units are scheduled for delivery in phases over the next six to ten months and will be used across ACME Solar's Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects and standalone BESS initiatives. These projects are expected to be commissioned over the next twelve to eighteen months.

ACME Solar's CEO, Nikhil Dhingra, noted that with this order, the company's cumulative BESS procurement exceeds 5 GWh, following a previous 3.1 GWh order placed in July. He emphasized that this strategic purchase will secure timely availability of the storage systems, helping mitigate risks in project commissioning and accelerating overall project timelines.

ACME Solar Holdings is a leading integrated renewable energy company with a diverse portfolio that includes solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid solutions. The company currently operates at a total capacity of 2,890 MW.

Jason Lee, Director of POSCO International, highlighted that this move marks a significant expansion into India, which he described as one of the most promising markets for BESS globally. He stated that the partnership with ACME Solar will broaden their business activities in India.

Lu TianJun, General Manager at Lishen, said that the agreement will allow the company to contribute further to energy efficiency initiatives in India and build a stronger foundation for long-term growth. Lishen, China's first lithium-ion battery R&D firm, brings 27 years of experience to the collaboration.

China FAW Group Import and Export Co., Ltd, the trading arm of China FAW Group China's first and one of its largest state-owned automobile manufacturers, will handle global import and export operations related to this order, including vehicles, parts, and associated technologies.
