Synopsis

The Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway recorded toll collections of INR 1,240.04 crore in FY26, with 1.55 crore vehicles using the corridor, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly INR 500 crore. The 701 km access-controlled expressway has seen steady traffic growth since its phased opening, crossing one crore vehicles in FY25. Cumulative usage has reached 3.44 crore vehicles, generating INR 2,660 crore in toll revenue to date. The sharp rise in collections reflects increasing traffic volumes across the corridor, which connects key districts in Maharashtra and serves as a major intra-state logistics and passenger movement route.

The Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway has recorded toll collections of INR 1,240.04 crore in the financial year 2025-26, with a total of 1.55 crore vehicles using the corridor during the period, reflecting a year-on-year increase of approximately INR 499.41 crore in revenue.

According to data released by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the 701 km access-controlled expressway, which passes through 10 districts of the state, has witnessed consistent growth in traffic volumes and toll collections since its phased commissioning.

In the initial phase following its partial opening in FY23, the expressway recorded 13.59 lakh vehicles over a four-month period, generating toll revenue of INR 106.41 crore. Traffic volumes increased significantly in the following year, with 68.99 lakh vehicles recorded in FY24, contributing INR 528.10 crore in toll collections.

The expressway crossed the milestone of one crore vehicles in FY25, generating approximately INR 740 crore in toll revenue during that financial year. The subsequent increase in FY26 has pushed annual collections beyond the INR 1,000 crore mark for the first time since the project became operational.

Cumulatively, the Samruddhi Expressway has handled around 3.44 crore vehicles, generating total toll revenue of INR 2,660 crore to date. The steady rise in both traffic and revenue indicates increasing utilisation of the corridor as connectivity improves between key economic centres in Maharashtra.

The expressway serves as a major infrastructure link between Nagpur and Mumbai, facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers across the state. Its alignment through multiple districts has enhanced regional connectivity and is expected to support logistics efficiency, industrial development and inter-city travel.

The growth in toll collections reflects not only higher traffic volumes but also the gradual stabilisation of usage patterns as more stretches became operational over time. Improved connectivity and reduced travel time have contributed to increased adoption of the route by both commercial and private vehicles.

The data underscores the role of large-scale expressway projects in driving mobility and supporting economic activity, particularly in states with strong industrial and logistics demand. The Samruddhi Expressway continues to see rising utilisation as it integrates into the broader transport network of Maharashtra.
