Synopsis

The Haryana government has approved an expenditure of INR 1,028 crore for a wide range of infrastructure and departmental projects across multiple sectors. The approval was given during a High-Powered Purchase Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The allocation covers urban infrastructure, water supply systems, health facilities, industrial pollution control measures, and civic development works. Savings of about INR 96 crore were also achieved through negotiations with contractors. Authorities have directed departments to ensure timely execution, quality control, and strict monitoring of all ongoing works.

The Haryana government has cleared an expenditure of INR 1,028 crore for a broad set of development and infrastructure projects spread across multiple departments, reflecting continued investment in civic systems, utilities, and urban expansion works.

The approvals were finalised during a High-Powered Purchase Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, where multiple procurement and infrastructure proposals were reviewed in detail. During the process, departments also reported that negotiations with contractors and suppliers led to savings of around INR 96 crore, indicating efforts to manage project costs more efficiently while maintaining planned development targets.

The sanctioned funds cover projects across more than 10 departments, including agencies responsible for urban development, public works, irrigation, health, industrial infrastructure, housing, and power distribution. These departments are collectively working on strengthening core infrastructure, improving public services, and upgrading urban facilities in both developing and established regions of the state.

A significant portion of the allocation has been directed towards water supply and drainage infrastructure. This includes a major pumping station in Gurugram with a capacity of 665.5 million litres per day, aimed at improving bulk water supply systems for the growing urban population. In Faridabad, a master water supply scheme has also been approved to enhance distribution efficiency and address rising demand. In addition, planning and development work related to storm water management in the Gurugram metropolitan region has been cleared to improve drainage capacity during heavy rainfall conditions.

Urban infrastructure and civic facilities have also received support under the approvals. These include development work for a training centre for Home Guards and Civil Defence in Karnal, construction of Atal Park in Panchkula, and a shooting range sports complex in Sector-32. These projects are expected to improve public amenities, training infrastructure, and recreational facilities across key urban centres.

Industrial and environmental infrastructure has also been addressed through the approval of an additional common effluent treatment plant and a pumping station in Panipat. This is aimed at strengthening pollution control mechanisms and supporting compliance among industrial units in the region.

In the health and education sector, a community health centre in Jind district has been approved along with a digital system for government medical colleges. This system is intended to streamline administrative processes and improve coordination across medical institutions. Alongside this, procurement of essential electrical and infrastructure equipment such as transformers, meters, and PCC poles has been cleared for distribution and maintenance works.

Officials have been directed to ensure strict monitoring of all projects, timely completion of work, and adherence to quality standards. The emphasis remains on accountability in execution and proper utilisation of allocated funds across departments.
