Synopsis

The Haryana government has approved the final alignment of the 64 km Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida Greater Noida Namo Bharat RRTS-cum-Metro corridor, with nearly 52 km falling within the state. The project will be implemented by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation and aims to integrate seamlessly with existing metro networks in Gurugram and Faridabad. Key stretches in both cities have been defined, and the Detailed Project Report is being finalised. The corridor is expected to reduce travel time, ease congestion and strengthen regional connectivity across the NCR.

The Haryana government has approved the final alignment of the Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida Greater Noida Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS)-cum-Metro corridor. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini informed the state Assembly that the alignment has been cleared and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is now being finalised. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation has been directed to move ahead with further planning and execution steps.

The proposed corridor will span around 64 km, of which nearly 52 km lies within Haryana. The remaining stretch will connect Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, creating a continuous high-speed transit link across key NCR cities. The project forms part of the Namo Bharat rapid rail initiative aimed at improving intercity mobility in high-density urban regions.

In Gurugram, an integrated section of about 14.5 km between IFFCO Chowk and Gwal Pahari has been approved. This stretch will cover important locations such as Sector 29, Millennium City Centre, Sector 52, Wazirabad, Sector 57 and Sector 58-61. It will connect with the existing Delhi Metro Yellow Line and the Rapid Metro network, ensuring smooth interchange for daily commuters. This integration is expected to reduce dependency on road transport along Golf Course Road and the Delhi Gurugram corridor, which faces heavy congestion.

In Faridabad, an integrated section of nearly 16 km from Sainik Colony to Badshahpur has been sanctioned. The route will serve the NIT area, Bata Chowk, Sectors 12 to 15 and parts of New Faridabad. It will also link with the Delhi Metro Violet Line, allowing better access to central Delhi and adjoining industrial zones. Officials indicated that this alignment has been designed to support both residential clusters and commercial hubs that have expanded rapidly over the past decade.

The corridor will include modern infrastructure features such as elevated viaducts and noise barriers in urban stretches to reduce sound impact on nearby residential areas. The state government stated that the project is intended to improve travel efficiency, reduce vehicular congestion and support environmentally sustainable transport options.

During the Assembly session, the Chief Minister also announced that residents of Chhachhrauli in Yamunanagar district who have been living for decades on government land recorded as Gair Mumkin Abadi will be granted ownership rights after verification of records and surveys.

This corridor has been under discussion for some time as part of broader NCR connectivity planning. With the alignment now approved, the focus will shift to DPR finalisation, cost assessment and inter-state coordination before construction timelines are formally announced.
