Vayona Energy has signed its first deal to supply 18 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines, totaling 64.8 MW, for a project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, alongside a long-term maintenance contract. The company began operations in December 2025 after TPG and MAVCO Investments acquired the wind turbine manufacturer from Siemens Gamesa. Wind turbines convert wind energy into electricity, contributing to India's renewable energy growth. The Kadapa project highlights Vayona Energy's entry into India's wind energy sector and signals potential future growth opportunities as demand for clean energy infrastructure rises.
Vayona Energy has entered into an agreement with Oyster Renewable Energy to supply wind turbines with a combined capacity of 64.8 MW for a project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. This marks the company's first deal since it began operations in early December 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, Vayona Energy will provide 18 SG 3.6-145 series wind turbines for the project and also manage a long-term operations and maintenance contract. Wind turbine generators are crucial devices that convert wind's kinetic energy into electricity, supporting renewable energy production in the region.
The company was formed last year when TPG, a global alternative asset management firm, and MAVCO Investments, a private firm owned by select members of the Murugappa family, acquired the wind turbine original equipment manufacturer from Siemens Gamesa and rebranded it as Vayona Energy. This strategic acquisition positioned Vayona Energy to enter India's renewable energy sector with a focus on wind power projects.
The Kadapa project is expected to contribute significantly to Andhra Pradesh's renewable energy capacity. Industry analysts suggest that with India's growing focus on clean energy, companies like Vayona Energy are likely to see increased demand for both turbine supply and maintenance services in the coming years.
