Synopsis

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has launched a comprehensive enforcement drive against unauthorised parking across the city, issuing a total of 384 notices to vehicle owners and operators during the campaign. The action is part of the civic body's efforts to ease traffic congestion, improve pedestrian movement and uphold public space regulations in key urban areas. Notices were served in prominent commercial and residential zones where vehicles were found parked in no-parking areas or obstructing thoroughfares, footpaths and service lanes. AMC officials have reiterated their commitment to sustaining the enforcement drive and urged citizens to comply with parking regulations to ensure smoother mobility and better urban management.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has taken targeted action against illegal parking across multiple locations in the city, issuing 384 notices during its latest enforcement drive. The campaign was conducted with the aim of addressing traffic congestion, ensuring clear roads and protecting designated pedestrian pathways and service lanes.

Officials said the notices were served to vehicle owners and operators whose vehicles were found parked in restricted areas or in ways that hindered traffic flow or posed safety risks to pedestrians. These included no-parking zones, footpaths and other public spaces where unauthorised parking is prohibited under municipal regulations.

The enforcement initiative formed part of the civic administration's broader effort to enhance urban mobility and decongest key parts of Ahmedabad. Municipal teams carrying out the drive were deployed across commercial hubs, residential localities and other high-traffic areas to identify and act against violations.

AMC officers overseeing the operation stressed that the notices are aimed at encouraging compliance with parking rules and deterring habitual contraventions. The corporation said it will continue to monitor parking behaviour and take appropriate action where violations are observed.

Citizens and commuters were reminded to follow designated parking norms and make use of authorised parking facilities to support smoother traffic movement and reduce the incidence of roadside congestion. The civic body indicated that sustained enforcement efforts are planned to improve adherence to urban traffic and parking regulations across Ahmedabad.
