Saatvik Green Energy has received an additional INR 16.74 crore order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company for off-grid solar water pumps under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and PM-KUSUM-B scheme. With this, the company's cumulative order from the state utility has reached 1,815 pumps valued at INR 30.24 crore, excluding GST. The project involves supplying and installing solar pumping systems across farmer locations in Maharashtra. The order highlights steady demand for decentralised solar solutions in the agricultural sector.
Saatvik Green Energy has secured an additional contract worth INR 16.74 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the deployment of off-grid solar water pumps across Maharashtra. The development was disclosed by the company during the past week.
With this latest order, the total business secured by Saatvik from the state power utility has reached 1,815 solar water pumps, taking the aggregate contract value to INR 30.24 crore, excluding GST. The projects fall under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and the PM-KUSUM-B scheme, both aimed at promoting solar-powered irrigation among farmers and reducing dependence on grid electricity and diesel pumps.
The new order involves the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 1,000 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. These systems will be installed at identified farmer locations across different districts of Maharashtra, as per specifications provided by the state discom.
The company's management indicated that the repeat order reflects sustained confidence from MSEDCL in Saatvik's execution track record. Over the past few years, solar pump installations under central and state-backed schemes have gained pace, driven by policy support, rising power costs and the need for reliable irrigation solutions in rural areas.
Saatvik Green Energy operates a 4.8 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ambala, Haryana. In addition, the company is in the process of developing a greenfield integrated manufacturing facility in Odisha, which is planned to include 4 GW of solar module capacity and 4.8 GW of solar cell capacity. This expansion is expected to support both utility-scale and decentralised solar projects, including government-led agricultural initiatives.
