The Jharkhand Industrial Corridor is a strategic initiative aimed at leveraging the state's rich mineral resources-coal, iron ore, bauxite, and mica-to drive industrialization and economic growth. Supported by infrastructure projects, the corridor seeks to enhance connectivity and commercial development. Key projects include a INR 465 crore, 44-km NH-33 stretch and a INR 1,876 crore elevated corridor in Jamshedpur to reduce congestion. Jharkhand is also a beneficiary of the INR 3,330.40 crore national infrastructure push and aligns with the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC). Paradip Port has emerged as India's highest cargo-handling major port, recording 145.38 million metric tonnes (MMT) in FY 2023-24, surpassing Deendayal Port. To accommodate rising demand, the INR 10,000 crore expansion plan includes the Western Dock (25 MMT capacity), full mechanization by 2030, and a 10 MW solar power plant. Future projects include the INR 1,400 crore North Dock Complex-3 (NDC-3) and INR 2,110 crore Kendrapara riverine port. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved Master Plan 2031 Phase-2 for areas along the 165 km Yamuna Expressway, covering parts of Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, and Agra. The plan includes key projects like a INR 7,200 crore Heritage City in Mathura's Raya Urban Centre and a 364-acre Logistics Park in Aligarh's Tappal-Bajna township near the upcoming Noida International Airport. In Ahmedabad, development rights for a riverfront plot along Vallabh Sadan have increased by INR 8,824 per square metre over three months, reaching INR 26,000 per square metre in November 2024. A new request for proposal (RFP) for a food park at another Vallabh Sadan plot now sets the base price at INR 32,500 per square metre, according to the Sabarmati Riverfront Land Disposal Policy. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) has significantly improved east-west connectivity in Mumbai, cutting travel time between Santacruz and Chembur from nearly two hours to just 17 minutes. The ongoing extension aims to ease congestion further and introduce additional direct links. With the project cost rising to INR 650-670 crore due to delays, it features Asia's first curved cable-stayed bridge and new routes connecting Kurla to Vakola Junction and Chembur to Vile Parle. Preparations are underway for two new metro corridors in Gurgaon, aimed at strengthening connectivity between Old and New Gurgaon.
