Several disgruntled homebuyers collected to protest outside Raheja Developer’s office in Gurugram earlier this week over delayed possession. The individuals have invested in the Raheja Revanta Project located in Sector 78. The project was promoted as one of the tallest structures in Delhi NCR and Haryana, and flats sold ranged between Rs 1 crore to Rs 5 crores. Homebuyers are said to have paid up almost 90 per cent of the total value of their flats. The project began five years ago and is still currently far from complete.
Spokespersons from Raheja Developers issued a statement discussing details of the measures being undertaken by the developer to speed up the construction and delivery of the project. They have cited issues related to being able to secure basic infrastructure from the government as one of the primary reasons for delay. The project which when complete can accommodate over 100 families, cannot commence without basics such as land for internal roads, construction of 33 KVA sub-stations and water supply, all of which is being held up by the government at the moment.
