Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd secured new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders worth over INR 3,550 crore, including a major solar project from Coal India Ltd. The largest contract involves an 875 MW solar PV project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, valued at around INR 3,490 crore, including operations and maintenance. The company also received a 50 MW project order in Maharashtra from a private independent power producer. With these additions, SWREL’s EPC order inflows for FY26 have crossed INR 10,062 crore, surpassing its initial annual targets and reflecting strong momentum in utility-scale renewable project execution.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd has secured fresh orders aggregating to approximately INR 3,550 crore, strengthening its project pipeline and closing the financial year on an accelerated growth trajectory.
The largest component of the order book comes from Coal India Ltd, where the company emerged as the lowest bidder for a turnkey EPC package involving the development of an 875 MW (AC) grid-connected solar photovoltaic project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The contract, valued at around INR 3,490 crore, includes not only engineering and construction but also long-term operations and maintenance services, underscoring the increasing scale and integration of utility-scale renewable projects in India.
In addition to this flagship contract, the company secured another EPC order for a 50 MW AC solar project in Maharashtra from a private independent power producer. While smaller in scale, this project reflects continued demand from private sector developers and contributes to the diversification of the company’s execution portfolio.
With these additions, SWREL’s total EPC order inflows for FY26 have exceeded INR 10,062 crore, surpassing the company’s earlier projections for the year. Management indicated that the milestone reflects a stronger-than-anticipated close to the financial year, supported by increased activity in large-scale renewable energy tenders and improved execution visibility across geographies.
The company’s leadership conveyed that the award from Coal India marks a significant development, as it represents a partnership with a major public sector entity transitioning towards renewable energy. The project is expected to contribute to the broader shift in India’s energy mix, where traditional energy companies are increasingly investing in solar capacity to meet decarbonisation targets.
SWREL operates as a global EPC solutions provider, delivering projects across utility-scale solar, floating solar installations, hybrid systems, energy storage, and wind energy. The company has built a diversified international presence, with operations spanning India, South-east Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.
Its cumulative portfolio stands at over 26.1 GWp, including both commissioned projects and those under execution. Additionally, the company manages an operations and maintenance portfolio of approximately 10.1 GWp of solar assets, including third-party installations, providing a recurring revenue stream alongside project execution.
The latest order inflows reinforce the company’s positioning within the renewable EPC segment, particularly at a time when large-format solar developments and hybrid energy projects are gaining traction across domestic and global markets.
