FBG Holdings Bhd announced that its subsidiary has accepted a letter of award from MTD Construction for a specialist contractor role in the MIROS crash test facilities laboratory equipment project. The contract, valued at MYR 40.2 million, marks a significant addition to the company’s order book. The project involves supplying and managing specialised laboratory systems for crash testing infrastructure. This development reflects steady demand in infrastructure-linked technical projects and follows similar contract wins by regional construction-linked firms in recent quarters.
FBG Holdings Bhd stated that one of its units has accepted a letter of award from MTD Construction for a project linked to the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). The company confirmed that the acceptance took place recently.
The contract involves appointing the unit as a specialist contractor for the crash test facilities laboratory equipment project. The scope of work is expected to include the supply, installation and integration of technical laboratory systems required for crash testing infrastructure.
The total contract value stands at MYR 40.2 million, adding to the group’s existing order book. While the company did not disclose execution timelines in detail, such projects typically involve phased delivery aligned with infrastructure readiness and compliance requirements.
MIROS plays a key role in road safety research and testing in Malaysia, and the development of dedicated crash testing facilities has been part of broader efforts to improve vehicle safety standards in the region. Contracts of this nature usually require specialised expertise in engineering systems and testing environments.
In recent quarters, construction and engineering firms across Southeast Asia have been securing similar technical contracts, particularly in areas linked to transport safety, infrastructure upgrades and research facilities. This trend has supported order book visibility for companies operating in niche contracting segments.
