ReNew Energy Global Plc has added a record 2.4 GW of renewable energy capacity in FY2026, taking its total operating portfolio to 12.6 GW, making it the second-largest player in the country. This addition includes solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. After adjusting for 600 MW of asset sales during the year, the company reported strong expansion across its clean energy business. It also has additional capacity under construction expected to be commissioned soon, while its manufacturing and C&I segments continue to expand steadily across solar modules and cells.
ReNew Energy Global Plc announced earlier this week that it had commissioned a record 2.4 GW of renewable energy assets in FY2026, marking its highest annual addition so far. With this expansion, the company's total operating capacity has reached 12.6 GW, positioning it as the second-largest renewable energy player in the country.
The figures have been reported after accounting for 600 MW of assets that were sold during the financial year 2025-26. The newly commissioned capacity includes 1.75 GW of solar power, 0.62 GW of wind energy, and 25 MW/100 MWh of battery energy storage systems, reflecting a diversified clean energy mix.
The Founder, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the company stated that FY2026 has been a defining year for ReNew Energy, highlighting that the 2.4 GW addition represents the highest capacity commissioned by the company in a single year. The statement was presented as a reflection of the company's strong execution and scale-up in renewable deployment.
The company also reported an additional fully constructed capacity of around 450 MW, which is expected to be commissioned shortly, further strengthening its operational base. As of March 31, 2026, the company's gross capacity stood at 20 GW, indicating a strong pipeline beyond current operations.
ReNew Green, the company's commercial and industrial arm, now has a committed portfolio of 2.5 GW, with more than 2.0 GW already operational, showing consistent growth in the C&I segment.
In the manufacturing segment, the company has established itself as a key player with 6.5 GW of operating solar module capacity and 2.5 GW of operating cell capacity. This capacity is also being expanded further by an additional 4 GW, targeted for completion by December 2026, strengthening its integrated renewable energy value chain.
