Synopsis

The second phase of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS 2.0) in Amaravati is moving ahead with on-ground inspections and surveys across key villages. Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja reviewed the enjoyment survey process and interacted with farmers, who shared positive feedback on benefits such as annual rent, loan waivers, and rent revisions. Officials confirmed that annual rent payments for LPS 2.0 participants are scheduled to begin from May 2026. The visit also involved senior officials from APCRDA’s land and survey departments, reflecting continued administrative focus on timely execution of the capital city development framework.

The second phase of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS 2.0), being implemented by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) for the development of Amaravati, is witnessing steady progress on the ground. As part of ongoing field activities, Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja conducted inspections across Vaddamanu, Karlapudi, and Endrai villages to review the status of the enjoyment survey.

During the visit, the Additional Commissioner assessed the survey process being carried out in these locations and issued directions to officials and field staff to ensure accuracy and timely completion. The enjoyment survey is a key step in identifying and verifying land parcels contributed by farmers under the pooling framework.

Farmers from the surveyed villages interacted with the visiting official and shared feedback on the scheme. They conveyed satisfaction with the benefits extended by the state government, including annual lease payments, loan waivers, and periodic increases in annuity payouts for pooled land.

Officials from APCRDA informed stakeholders that the annual rent payments for landowners participating in LPS 2.0 are scheduled to commence from May 2026. This aligns with the broader policy framework of providing financial security to farmers who contribute land for capital development.

The inspection was attended by senior officials including B.L. Chennakesava Rao, Director (Lands) – Capital Region, G. Panduranga Ramakrishnan, Deputy Director from the Survey Department, and Deputy Collector N. Yesuratnam, along with survey teams engaged in the fieldwork.

The Amaravati land pooling model, first introduced during the initial phase of capital development, has been one of the largest voluntary land aggregation exercises in India, involving thousands of acres contributed by farmers. The second phase aims to build on this framework while addressing pending surveys, documentation, and benefit disbursement processes.
