Synopsis

Antara Senior Care has received NABH Care Home Accreditation for its assisted living facility in Noida's Sector 66, marking the first such certification for a senior care home in the district. The 53-bed centre becomes the company's second accredited facility after its Gurugram care home received recognition in 2025. The certification, awarded by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, evaluates safety, clinical governance, and quality standards in residential care environments. The development reflects growing institutionalisation within India's senior living segment, where demand for structured and regulated care infrastructure is increasing alongside demographic shifts and rising life expectancy.

Antara Senior Care has secured accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers for its assisted living facility in Sector 66, Noida, in the past week, making it the first senior care home in the district to receive certification under the NABH Care Home Accreditation framework.

The Noida facility, with a capacity of 53 beds, becomes the second property in Antara's network to be accredited, following its Gurugram care home, which received certification in 2025. With this, the company has stated that it is currently the only assisted living provider with NABH-accredited care homes in north India, and is working towards bringing its entire care home portfolio under the accreditation framework.

The NABH Care Home Accreditation establishes defined standards for residential senior care facilities, covering parameters such as resident safety, clinical governance, staff qualifications, medication management, and infection control protocols. The Noida facility was assessed across multiple operational and infrastructure benchmarks, including availability of essential utilities, installation and maintenance of safety systems, emergency preparedness, and adherence to biomedical waste management norms. The evaluation also examined processes related to resident rights and grievance redressal.

Ishaan Khanna, chief executive officer of Antara Assisted Care Services, indicated that accreditation provides an assurance of quality through independently verified standards, with care delivered by trained professionals under structured processes. He added that the company intends to extend these standards across its care homes in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Chennai.

Prem Singh Rathore, chief quality officer at Antara Senior Care, stated that the senior care sector in India has historically evolved in a fragmented and largely unregulated manner, resulting in variations in quality and safety. He indicated that NABH accreditation introduces a more structured and accountable framework, with measurable benchmarks and continuous quality monitoring across facilities.

The development comes against the backdrop of a significant demographic shift in India. Industry estimates suggest that the country's senior population is expected to more than double to around 350 million by 2050, with the population aged 80 and above projected to grow sharply. This trend is increasing the demand for organised senior care infrastructure, including assisted living and long-term care facilities.

Antara Senior Care, part of Max India Limited, operates an integrated senior care ecosystem spanning residential communities and assisted care services. Its care home network currently includes eight facilities with approximately 485 beds across Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru and Chennai. These centres provide both long-term assisted living and short-term clinical care for post-operative or acute medical recovery.

The accreditation of the Noida facility reflects a broader shift towards standardisation and formalisation within India's senior living sector, as operators respond to rising demand for professionally managed, healthcare-linked residential environments.
