The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority has formalised a long-term lease agreement with the Andhra Pradesh State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj for setting up a dedicated training campus in Amaravati. Spread across over five acres in Kuragallu and Nowluru villages, the project aims to strengthen institutional capacity, improve governance training, and support rural development initiatives. With a 60-year lease tenure and defined construction timelines, the campus is expected to enhance administrative skills and align with the state's broader development focus on capacity building and public service efficiency.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has signed a lease agreement with the Andhra Pradesh State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (APSIRD & PR) for setting up a new training campus in Amaravati.
The agreement was formalised recently, under which APCRDA has allotted around 5.043 acres of land in Kuragallu and Nowluru villages, part of the Amaravati Capital City region. The land has been given on a leasehold basis for a period of 60 years at a nominal annual lease rental, in line with government provisions aimed at promoting institutional infrastructure.
The proposed APSIRD & PR campus is planned as a dedicated centre for training and capacity building. It will focus on strengthening rural governance systems, improving administrative efficiency, and supporting skill development for officials linked to panchayat raj and rural development departments.
As per the agreed terms, the institute is required to begin construction within three months and complete the project within two years, following approved plans and APCRDA regulations. This timeline aligns with the state's push to fast-track development activities in Amaravati, where several institutional and infrastructure projects have been planned over the past few years.
Officials involved in the agreement signing included APCRDA's Joint Director (Estates), Jubin Cheeran Roy, who represented the authority, while APSIRD & PR was represented by Kolli Radha Madhavi Latha, DLPO and Gazetted Instructor.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Amaravati's role as an administrative and institutional hub. Earlier, similar land allocations in the capital region have been aimed at bringing in government training centres, educational institutions, and public infrastructure to support long-term governance needs.
