Synopsis

Omaxe Ltd. has announced the naming of a dedicated stadium stand after Harmanpreet Kaur at its upcoming 30,000-seat cricket venue within The Omaxe State in Dwarka Sector 19B. The 1,500-seat Pink Stand is designed to enhance inclusivity, particularly for women and families. The stadium forms part of a 50-acre integrated sports and lifestyle development with an estimated investment of around INR 2,500 crore. The company has also appointed Bentel Associates International to masterplan key commercial, hospitality, and retail components, reflecting a broader strategy to create a mixed-use destination anchored by sports infrastructure.

Omaxe Ltd. has announced that a key stand at its upcoming cricket stadium within The Omaxe State in Dwarka Sector 19B will be named after Harmanpreet Kaur, with the development positioned as part of a broader integrated sports and real estate project currently under construction. The announcement was made in the past week at the project site, where company officials outlined progress on the stadium and associated infrastructure.

The stand, referred to as the Pink Stand, will be located in the North Pavilion Lower Bowl of the stadium and will accommodate more than 1,500 spectators. It forms part of a 30,000-seat venue that will anchor The Omaxe State, a 50-acre mixed-use development planned with an estimated investment of approximately INR 2,500 crore. The project is being developed in partnership with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and is designed to integrate sports, retail, hospitality, and social infrastructure within a single master plan.

The concept of the Pink Stand has been introduced to create a dedicated viewing space for women and families, reflecting an effort to incorporate inclusivity within large-format sports infrastructure. The development also includes provisions for athlete facilities, with separate amenities planned for women and para-athletes, including dressing rooms and support infrastructure.

As part of the broader project planning, Bentel Associates International has been appointed to design and plan the commercial, retail, hotel, and club components within the development. The scope includes a high-street retail format, a five-star hotel under the Gateway brand of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), and a membership-based sports club. The retail component is planned across more than 48,000 sq m, while the hospitality segment will include a 158-key hotel with stadium-facing rooms and associated facilities.

The project also includes a multi-purpose indoor arena spanning approximately 30,000 sq m, designed to host sports events, concerts, and community gatherings. Additional infrastructure includes training courts, premium hospitality suites, and an integrated circulation system with multiple entry and exit points to manage large crowds.

The stadium and surrounding development are being designed to meet international sporting standards, with features such as advanced turf management systems and technology-enabled crowd management infrastructure. The plan includes AI-based access systems, dedicated transport interfaces, and an underground connectivity tunnel linking the hotel and stadium for secure movement during events.

Omaxe Ltd. has indicated that the project is intended to function as a year-round destination rather than a single-use sports facility, with continuous activity across retail, hospitality, and event spaces. The integration of multiple real estate components within a sports-led development reflects a growing trend in large urban projects, where mixed-use planning is used to enhance utilisation and long-term asset value.

The development of The Omaxe State highlights the increasing role of sports infrastructure as a catalyst for large-scale real estate projects, particularly in urban centres where land parcels are being planned as multi-functional destinations combining commercial, recreational, and civic uses.
