The metro project, currently under construction in Pune, Maharashtra, India, covers a stretch of 23 kilometers and includes 23 stations. The corridor passes through areas such as Shivajinagar and Hinjewadi, which have seen rapid residential and commercial development in recent years. The growing density in these regions has contributed to traffic congestion and connectivity challenges, which the metro line is expected to address by improving daily commuting and supporting economic activity.
The project is structured under a Public-Private Partnership model, under which Keolis has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate and maintain the line. As part of its responsibilities, Keolis India will use Octave Attune EAM to manage the complete lifecycle of metro assets. This includes rolling stock, civil structures, rail tracks, utilities, and the automatic fare collection system.
The selection followed a multi-stage evaluation process involving technical workshops and product demonstrations. According to the company, the decision reflects its prior experience in metro infrastructure management and positive outcomes from earlier implementations within the broader Keolis Group network.
The Attune EAM platform will be deployed through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and will include built-in generative AI capabilities. Since Pune Metro Line 3 is currently in its commissioning phase, the platform is expected to help create a comprehensive asset register from the beginning, ensuring structured tracking and documentation of all assets across their lifecycle.
The implementation will also include advanced maintenance approaches such as reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), along with integration into third-party systems including ERP, BIM, and operational technology (OT) systems. These integrations are intended to support coordinated operations and data flow across different functions involved in metro management.
A senior executive from Octave noted that the company aims to support transportation projects that improve urban mobility and economic development, and indicated that the platform will assist in managing operations ranging from trains and tracks to stations and access systems, while enhancing reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance. The company also highlighted its intent to continue working as a long-term digitalization partner for operators as they scale their operations.
Keolis India, established as a Special Purpose Vehicle for operating Pune Metro Line 3, is focused on delivering operations and maintenance services with an emphasis on safety and operational efficiency. The organization is currently engaged in mobilisation activities to meet operational benchmarks set by PITCMRL ahead of full revenue service launch.
