It also allows both Bank of Baroda and other bank customers to access basic banking services easily.

State-run Bank of Baroda has partnered with Reliance Jio to expand mobile banking access to feature phone users, aiming to improve digital financial inclusion across the country.

Under the collaboration, the bank's bob World Lite mobile banking application will be made available on the JioPhone Prima 4G device, according to an official statement.

The application has been designed specifically for feature phone users, offering a simplified interface with low bandwidth requirements and keypad-based navigation. It enables secure access to essential banking services on affordable devices.

The bank said the initiative aligns with the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India's efforts to promote inclusive digital payments and extend banking services to underserved segments.

The bob World Lite app will be accessible not only to Bank of Baroda customers but also to users from other banks, broadening its reach.

Key features of the app include UPI-enabled services such as scan and pay, money transfers, bill payments, recharges, and basic profile management. The platform is designed to support everyday banking needs without requiring a smartphone.

Bank of Baroda Managing Director and CEO Debadatta Chand said the initiative targets the large and growing base of feature phone users, enabling secure and convenient banking access.

Reliance Jio said the partnership will help scale digital banking services and improve accessibility for millions of users across the country.

The move reflects ongoing efforts by banks and telecom operators to bridge the digital divide by leveraging low-cost devices and simplified technology platforms.
