Synopsis

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has initiated the process to develop a 174-acre multi-modal logistics park in Dadri, aimed at strengthening industrial and warehousing infrastructure in the region. The project, announced in the past week, will be developed through a developer selected via e-auction, with a minimum investment commitment of around INR 1,000 crore. Located in Sector Kappa-II near the Inland Container Depot, the site benefits from proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and dedicated freight corridors. The facility is expected to integrate air, rail and road cargo movement, supporting logistics efficiency across north India. The development forms part of Uttar Pradesh's broader strategy to enhance supply chain infrastructure and attract large-scale industrial investments.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) initiated a tender process in the past week to appoint a developer for a proposed 174-acre multi-modal logistics park in Dadri, aiming to strengthen logistics infrastructure and support industrial growth in the Greater Noida region.

The project is planned at Sector Kappa-II, near the Inland Container Depot in Dadri, and will be developed on a long-term leasehold basis of 90 years. Authorities have specified a minimum investment requirement of approximately INR 1,000 crore for the selected developer, with the allotment to be carried out through an e-auction process.

The proposed logistics park is strategically located in proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and key freight infrastructure, including the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors. This positioning is expected to enable integration of multiple modes of transport air, rail and road facilitating efficient cargo handling and distribution across northern India.

Officials indicated that the development will include core logistics and warehousing facilities spread across a built-up area of approximately 7 lakh square metres. The project is expected to generate around 5,000 employment opportunities, reflecting its scale and operational requirements.

The authority has set a reserve price of around INR 11,000 per square metre for the land parcel. Bidders will be required to meet eligibility criteria, including prior experience in logistics operations, to ensure capability in executing and managing a project of this scale.

The logistics park is part of a broader policy push by the Uttar Pradesh government to develop integrated logistics hubs and improve supply chain efficiency. The project aligns with state-level initiatives aimed at positioning the region as a key logistics and industrial hub, particularly in view of the upcoming airport at Jewar and associated infrastructure developments.

Earlier proposals for the site had envisaged facilities such as cargo terminals, warehousing complexes, container handling yards and supporting infrastructure, designed to handle bulk, break-bulk and containerised cargo. The integration of these components is intended to streamline freight movement and reduce transit times for industries operating in and around the National Capital Region.

The development also complements other planned logistics and industrial projects in the region, including large-scale logistics hubs under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and infrastructure initiatives linked to freight corridors. The clustering of such facilities is expected to enhance connectivity and improve operational efficiencies for manufacturing and distribution networks.

With the tender process now underway, GNIDA is expected to evaluate bids and finalise a developer in due course, following which project execution timelines and phasing plans will be established. The initiative reflects continued investment in logistics infrastructure to support industrial expansion and trade activity in the Greater Noida region.
