NILE Hospitality has announced the signing of a 75-key Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Dibrugarh, Assam, marking its continued expansion in emerging hospitality markets. The project is expected to improve the city's organised hotel supply and cater to rising demand from business and agricultural sectors. Dibrugarh, known as a key commercial centre in eastern India, has been witnessing steady growth in domestic travel and trade activity. The upcoming hotel is likely to bring branded accommodation and standardised services to the region, aligning with broader trends of hotel chains entering tier-II and tier-III cities.
NILE Hospitality has signed a new hotel project under the Courtyard by Marriott brand in Dibrugarh, Assam, with a planned inventory of 75 keys. The development marks the company's continued focus on expanding its footprint in emerging cities with growing demand for organised hospitality.
The company's founder and CEO, Vikram Singh Chauhan, stated that the addition of the Courtyard by Marriott property is expected to improve the quality of accommodation in Dibrugarh. He indicated that the project will introduce globally benchmarked facilities and services, supporting the city's increasing relevance as a business and agricultural hub in eastern India.
Dibrugarh has been gradually gaining attention due to its role in Assam's tea industry and its position as a key commercial centre in the region. The city has also seen improvements in connectivity and infrastructure in recent years, contributing to higher movement of business travellers and domestic tourists. However, the availability of branded hotel rooms has remained limited, creating an opportunity for organised players.
The entry of the Courtyard by Marriott brand reflects a broader industry trend where hotel operators are targeting tier-II cities to tap into new demand segments. Companies are increasingly focusing on such locations due to rising disposable incomes, infrastructure upgrades, and government efforts to promote regional economic growth.
