Andhra Pradesh has achieved a historic feat by becoming the first Indian state to complete land survey operations in 4,000 villages through the 'YSR Jagananna Saswata Bhu Hakku, Bhu Raksha Scheme.' This initiative ensures digital land records with precise coordinates, tamper-proof documents, and the use of advanced technologies like drones and CORS networks. Over 95% of the targeted villages have already been covered, resolving border disputes and setting up boundary stones. Remote participation options for landowners are also available. This scheme marks a significant step towards modernizing land records and protecting landowners' rights in the state.
Andhra Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first state in India to complete land survey operations in 4,000 villages through the 'YSR Jagananna Saswata Bhu Hakku, Bhu Raksha Scheme' in record time. This initiative aims to modernize land records and ensure landowners have accurate and tamper-proof documents. Under this scheme, the government is providing land records in digital format with precise coordinates (latitude and longitude) accurate to within 10 centimetres.

To prevent any fraudulent changes to land records, survey stones are being placed on the boundaries of agricultural lands and these are given to landowners at no cost. This ensures that records cannot be altered without the landowner's knowledge, eliminating the problem of double registrations. Additionally, the scheme includes regular updates of land records, mutation services, and subdivision processes before registration.
Cutting-edge technologies such as aircraft, helicopters, drones, rovers, and CORS (Continuous Operating Reference Stations) networks are being used to provide clear land boundaries to farmers. Aircraft, helicopters, and drones are used to capture high-resolution images, while CORS stations and rovers are employed for ground validation and verification.
The state has 17,595 villages, and the land survey process has been completed in 12,836 villages, covering 95% of them. The remaining 624 villages are expected to undergo drone surveys by October 15. The first phase of the initiative targeted 2,000 villages and achieved significant progress, with 2 lakh mutations, 4.3 lakh new survey subdivisions and the resolution of nearly 19,000 border disputes. Approximately 25 lakh boundary stones were placed in these areas.
The second phase also recorded notable achievements in the 2,000 villages covered. To ensure landowners' participation, the survey teams offer various options for remote involvement, including recording farmers' statements via WhatsApp video calls, Zoom, and other audio-visual methods.
