North India's professional audiovisual hardware market is expanding rapidly, driven by major infrastructure projects such as the Jewar International Airport and Dwarka Expressway. The region accounts for 40-45 per cent of India's AV hardware market, with growth supported by urban development in cities like Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar, as well as rising demand from luxury hotels and wedding venues. The domestic Pro-AV sector is growing at 7.2-9.7 per cent annually, with professional lighting projected to reach USD 391 million in 2026. Upcoming events like the 2027 PALM expo in New Delhi are set to further strengthen the ecosystem.
Infrastructure developments in the Delhi-NCR region, including the Jewar (Noida) International Airport and Dwarka Expressway, are expected to significantly drive the professional audiovisual (Pro-AV) hardware market in North India. Currently, the region contributes around 40-45 per cent of the total pan-India AV hardware market, making it a key hub for corporate, government, institutional, and event-related deployments, according to exhibition organiser Informa Markets.
Industry estimates indicate that the domestic Pro-AV market is growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 7.2-9.7 per cent, outpacing the global average of approximately 5 per cent. The professional lighting segment is projected to reach around USD 391 million in 2026, with an expected growth rate of 10.5 per cent.
The rise in demand in North India is attributed to multiple factors. Urban development across cities such as Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar has created strong requirements for permanent outdoor lighting, high-fidelity sound systems for religious sites, and large-scale LED video walls. Additionally, the growth of luxury hotels and destination wedding venues in Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR has transformed Pro-AV solutions from a luxury offering to a business and operational necessity.
New Delhi will host the 2027 edition of the Professional Audio, Lighting, and Music Production (PALM) expo from January 7-9. The event is expected to bring together 5,000-7,000 industry professionals, providing a focused environment for networking and business engagement. The region's dense network of corporate offices, event venues, and educational institutions, combined with growing digital infrastructure and rising disposable incomes, offers exhibitors direct access to high-value decision-makers across B2B and B2G segments.
According to Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, PALM Delhi is a strategic initiative reflecting the scale and maturity of North India's Pro Audio and Lighting ecosystem. He noted that the professional audio market is valued between USD 750 and 850 million, while the lighting industry is approaching USD 2 billion, with annual growth exceeding 11 per cent. Premium audio adoption in North India is reportedly 25 per cent higher than the national average, highlighting the region as one of the most dynamic growth corridors in the country.
