Separately, IHG has signed a management agreement with Eros Group to develop a 216-key InterContinental hotel in New Delhi, scheduled to open post-renovation in 2029. The developments span heritage, commercial, and metropolitan markets, indicating sustained investment in hospitality infrastructure aligned with growing business and leisure travel demand.

Radisson Hotel Group, Indian Hotels Company Limited, and IHG Hotels & Resorts have announced new hotel openings and strategic agreements across Gwalior, Kanpur, and New Delhi in the past week, reflecting continued expansion of branded hospitality assets in key urban and heritage markets.

Radisson Hotel Group has opened a 50-key property, Hotel Gwalior Regency, under its Radisson Individuals brand in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The addition marks the group's third hotel in the city and its eighth property in the state, indicating a steady scale-up of its regional portfolio. A senior executive at the company conveyed that the opening reinforces its focus on heritage destinations in Madhya Pradesh, with Gwalior identified as a strategically important market where the group has expanded its presence over time.

The Radisson Individuals brand typically caters to conversion properties, enabling independent hotels to align with global distribution systems while retaining local identity. The Gwalior property adds to the group's diversified brand mix in the city, which includes multiple formats catering to varying price segments and traveller profiles.

In a parallel development, IHCL has opened a 104-key hotel, Eternity, Kanpur IHCL SeleQtions, marking the debut of its SeleQtions brand in the city. The property is positioned within Kanpur's evolving commercial landscape, which has seen infrastructure upgrades and improved connectivity in recent years. A company executive indicated that Kanpur continues to be an important industrial and commercial hub, with increasing demand from corporate travellers, meetings and events (MICE), and social functions. The hotel is expected to cater to these segments through its full-service offering.

The SeleQtions portfolio represents IHCL's curated collection of upscale hotels, often located in culturally significant or business-oriented locations. The Kanpur launch aligns with the company's strategy to expand its presence in emerging urban markets beyond metropolitan centres.

Meanwhile, IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Eros Group (Nehru Place Hotels) to develop InterContinental Eros New Delhi, Nehru Place. The 216-key property is scheduled to open in 2029 following a comprehensive renovation. A senior executive at IHG stated that the partnership builds on the company's existing association with Eros Group and aims to strengthen its luxury portfolio in the national capital.

The InterContinental brand is positioned in the luxury segment, catering to both business and leisure travellers. The proposed development in Nehru Place, a major commercial district in Delhi, is expected to serve demand from corporate clients as well as high-end hospitality segments.

These developments indicate continued activity in India's hospitality sector, with operators expanding across diverse markets ranging from heritage cities to industrial hubs and metropolitan business districts. The focus on both new openings and redevelopment projects reflects evolving demand patterns and the need for branded accommodation aligned with changing travel and business requirements.
