Synopsis

The Women's Wing of CREDAI Surat has emerged as a key platform promoting women's participation in the real estate sector while supporting community welfare initiatives in Surat. Established two years ago, the group reflects the organisation's commitment to inclusivity and leadership opportunities for women in the construction ecosystem. Operating through a core committee of 15 members, the Women's Wing has undertaken several social initiatives, including medical camps for construction workers, grocery distribution for economically weaker families and maternal health programmes. The group also focuses on engaging children of construction workers through educational and recreational activities at project sites. Alongside social outreach, the initiative encourages women associated with the real estate sector to explore professional roles in architecture, design and real estate management.

As the world observes International Women's Day, the Women's Wing of CREDAI Surat is highlighting its growing role in promoting women's empowerment and community welfare in the construction and real estate ecosystem in Surat.

Established two years ago for the first time in the history of the Surat chapter, the initiative reflects the organisation's commitment to strengthening inclusivity and encouraging greater participation of women in the real estate sector. The Women's Wing operates through a core committee of 15 members, who actively work on initiatives that support construction workers, their families and economically disadvantaged communities.

Among its major initiatives are medical check-up camps organised for labourers and local residents, aimed at improving access to healthcare and promoting health awareness. The group has also conducted grocery distribution drives for economically weaker families and maternal health camps focusing on the well-being of pregnant women.

Another key focus area has been the welfare of children belonging to construction workers. The Women's Wing regularly organises educational and recreational activities at construction sites managed by members of CREDAI Surat, creating opportunities for children to participate in learning-based engagement programmes while supporting their families.

Beyond social initiatives, the Women's Wing is also working to encourage greater involvement of women in the real estate industry, which has traditionally been male-dominated. The initiative motivates builders wives and daughters to explore professional roles in areas such as architecture, design, planning and real estate management, helping broaden career opportunities for women in the sector.

The Women's Wing functions under the leadership of Convenor Ekta Savani and Co-Convenor Moxa Mistry. To streamline its activities, the wing has formed several committees responsible for different areas of work.

The CSR (Social & Health) Committee, led by Sona Chauhan, focuses on community welfare and healthcare initiatives. The Sports Committee, headed by Siddhi Barwaliya, promotes sports and fitness activities among members. The Programme Committee, chaired by Riddhi Barvaliya, manages events and special programmes, while the Seminar Committee, led by Vinanti Joriwala, organises seminars and workshops focused on professional development and knowledge sharing.

Through this structured leadership and community-driven approach, the CREDAI Surat Women's Wing has developed into a platform supporting women's empowerment, social engagement and industry participation within the region's real estate sector.
