Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented the state’s budget for the financial year 2026-27, allocating INR 2.23 lakh crore, marking a 10.28 per cent increase over the revised estimate of INR 2.028 lakh crore for the current fiscal. While presenting the budget in the state assembly, he mentioned that around 5,000 suggestions from citizens and various stakeholders had been incorporated into the proposals.




Saini highlighted that his government has implemented 60 out of 217 promises from the party’s poll manifesto so far. The budget outlines a capital expenditure of INR 28,205 crore, accounting for 12.6 per cent of the total allocation.



On environmental initiatives, the Chief Minister said the World Bank has approved financial assistance of INR 2,716 crore for the Haryana Clean Air Project. A significant step in the agricultural sector includes the proposal to establish a ‘Haryana Agri Discom,’ a third power distribution company aimed at supplying electricity to all 5,084 agricultural feeders and 7.12 lakh farm consumers. This initiative is expected to ensure uninterrupted power for every farm in the state.



The budget also proposes creating the Haryana Green Climate Resilience Fund with an allocation of INR 100 crore. The fund is intended to support investments in zero-emission vehicles, renewable energy, energy efficiency, water conservation, urban greening, climate-resilient agriculture, and nature-based solutions, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable development.
