Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd has expanded its hospitality portfolio with the addition of 159 rooms through the launch of two new resorts Club Mahindra Amba Ghat in Maharashtra and Club Mahindra Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh. The development forms part of the company's expansion strategy to add 1,000 rooms in FY26 and scale its total inventory to 12,000 keys by FY30. The new properties strengthen the company's presence in western and central India, while aligning with rising demand for nature-led and experiential travel destinations. The move reflects continued investment in leisure infrastructure across emerging tourism locations in the country.
Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL) has added 159 rooms to its hospitality portfolio through the launch of two new resorts Club Mahindra Amba Ghat in Maharashtra and Club Mahindra Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh as part of its ongoing expansion strategy, the company announced in the past week. The additions are aligned with its plan to increase room inventory and strengthen its presence in key leisure destinations across India.
The newly launched resorts are located in Amba Ghat, Maharashtra, and Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh, both of which are known for their nature-driven tourism appeal. The expansion supports the company's stated target of adding 1,000 rooms during FY26 and scaling its overall portfolio to 12,000 keys by FY30.
MHRIL stated that the inclusion of these properties enhances its footprint across western and central India, regions that have been witnessing growing interest from domestic travellers seeking nature-oriented and experiential holiday options. The company has been focusing on identifying emerging destinations that can cater to changing travel preferences among Indian families.
Manoj Bhat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MHRIL, indicated that destinations such as Amba Ghat and Bandhavgarh are seeing increased traction due to a shift towards immersive and nature-led travel experiences. He added that the company's approach has been to identify such locations and develop hospitality offerings that align with evolving consumer demand.
The expansion is part of a broader strategy aimed at increasing the company's inventory capacity over the medium term. By targeting 12,000 keys by FY30, MHRIL is seeking to scale its operations in line with anticipated growth in domestic tourism and holiday ownership demand.
The addition of new resorts also reflects ongoing investment in leisure infrastructure beyond established urban and coastal destinations. Locations such as Bandhavgarh, which is known for its national park and wildlife tourism, and Amba Ghat, which offers scenic landscapes, are being positioned as alternative holiday destinations within the company's network.
MHRIL operates a portfolio of resorts across India and overseas, catering primarily to vacation ownership customers. The company's expansion strategy involves both greenfield developments and additions in emerging tourist locations to diversify its offerings and increase capacity.
The latest additions indicate continued momentum in the hospitality sector, particularly in segments catering to experiential and nature-based tourism. With domestic travel demand remaining steady, developers and operators are increasingly focusing on expanding into non-traditional leisure destinations to capture a wider customer base.
