MRG Group has introduced The Riverfront, a large outdoor event venue in Panaji, marking its continued expansion in Goa's hospitality-led real estate segment. Located along the banks of the Mandovi River, the venue spans approximately 700 feet and can host up to 1,000 guests. Designed to accommodate weddings, corporate functions, exhibitions, and cultural events, the development integrates event infrastructure with an open, minimal architectural approach. Its proximity to established city landmarks and connectivity within the capital positions it as a prominent addition to Panaji's event and tourism ecosystem.
MRG Group has launched The Riverfront, an outdoor event venue in Panaji, expanding its footprint in Goa's hospitality and experiential real estate segment.
The venue has been developed along the banks of the Mandovi River and is situated near the former Mandovi Hotel, a well-known landmark in the state capital. Extending approximately 700 feet along the riverfront, the development is designed to host a variety of events including weddings, social gatherings, corporate functions, exhibitions, and cultural programmes.
With a capacity to accommodate up to 1,000 guests, The Riverfront is positioned as one of the larger outdoor venues in Panaji. The project incorporates essential event infrastructure such as dedicated service areas and parking facilities, including space for around 55 vehicles. It also features a private access jetty, enabling direct river connectivity and enhancing its appeal as a destination venue.
K Prakash Shetty indicated that the project was conceptualised to align with Panaji's urban and cultural character, with an emphasis on openness and accessibility. He noted that the design approach intentionally avoids imposing architectural elements, allowing the surrounding environment and the nature of each event to define the space.
The development adopts a restrained architectural language, focusing on flexibility rather than fixed design interventions. This allows the venue to be adapted for different formats and scales of events, catering to both private celebrations and large public gatherings. The river-facing setting, combined with sunset views over the Mandovi, adds a distinctive experiential dimension to the offering.
MRG Group has been strengthening its presence in the hospitality sector across India, with a portfolio that includes hotel properties under brands such as Goldfinch as well as developments associated with international operators. The launch of The Riverfront reflects a broader strategy of diversifying into experiential and event-led real estate formats in key leisure destinations.
The addition of such venues is aligned with increasing demand for organised outdoor event spaces in tourist-centric cities like Panaji, where cultural festivals, destination weddings, and corporate retreats continue to drive activity. The Riverfront's scale, location, and infrastructure position it to cater to this growing segment, while also contributing to the city's evolving urban and hospitality landscape.
