The project pertains to the refurbishment of the permanent way of railway sidings and mobile equipment tracks located at Kirandul and Bacheli, two key mining hubs operated by NMDC. The scope includes strengthening and restoring track infrastructure as well as undertaking maintenance works to ensure operational continuity of rail-linked logistics.
According to the company's regulatory disclosure, the contract has been awarded under standard terms and forms part of RVNL's regular business operations. The execution timeline for the project has been set at 36 months, indicating a phased approach to refurbishment and ongoing maintenance across the identified sites.
The railway sidings at Kirandul and Bacheli play a critical role in NMDC's mining logistics, facilitating the movement of iron ore and related materials from extraction sites to processing and distribution points. The refurbishment of track infrastructure is expected to improve operational reliability, reduce maintenance disruptions, and enhance the efficiency of bulk cargo movement through rail systems.
The contract focuses on permanent way infrastructure, which includes rails, sleepers, ballast, and associated track components that form the foundation of railway operations.
