Polo Hotels Group has announced plans to invest around INR 103 crore to develop a five-star hotel in Silchar, Assam, marking the first luxury hospitality project in the Barak Valley region. The proposed property will feature 100 rooms and suites and aims to introduce international-standard hospitality infrastructure to the area. The project has received approval from the Assam cabinet, which has also granted customised incentives and facilitative support for its development. According to the company, the hotel is expected to strengthen the tourism, business and events ecosystem in the region while supporting broader economic growth. Polo Hotels Group said the project reflects its long-term commitment to expanding its hospitality presence in Northeast India.

Polo Hotels Group on Monday said it will invest about INR 103 crore to develop its first luxury hospitality property in Assam. The company plans to build a five-star hotel with 100 rooms in Silchar, located in the Cachar district, making it the first such property in the Barak Valley.


The project has received approval from the Assam cabinet, which also cleared the grant of customised incentives and facilitative support to Hotel Polo Towers Ltd for establishing the hotel. The total investment for the project is estimated at around INR 103.92 crore.

According to the company, the proposed hotel will feature 100 premium rooms and suites designed to meet global hospitality standards while incorporating elements that reflect the cultural identity of the Barak Valley.

Polo Hotels Group CEO Deval Tibrewalla said the project is intended to support the next phase of economic growth in the Barak Valley by strengthening the region's tourism, business and events infrastructure.

The company added that the Silchar project forms part of its broader strategy to expand its hospitality presence and build a strong regional platform across Northeast India.
