Synopsis

Ceigall India Limited has secured a new highway project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for four-laning a key stretch of NH-139W in Bihar. The project, awarded under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), involves upgrading the 78.942-km Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah corridor at a bid cost of approximately INR 2,160 crore. The company's arm, Ceigall Infra Projects, received the Letter of Award (LOA) dated February 11, 2026. The project has a construction timeline of 730 days, followed by a 15-year operations and maintenance period. The corridor is expected to improve regional connectivity, enhance logistics efficiency and boost economic activity in the state.

Ceigall India Limited has announced that it has secured a new highway development project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the construction of a four-lane highway in Bihar. The company disclosed in an exchange filing that its arm, Ceigall Infra Projects, received a Letter of Award (LOA) dated February 11, 2026, for the project, which will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

The project involves the four-laning of the Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah section of National Highway-139W, covering a total length of 78.942 km. The stretch has been divided into two sections: Section 1 from Sahebganj to Areraj, measuring 38.362 km, and Section 2 from Areraj to Bettiah, spanning 40.580 km. The bid project cost is approximately INR 2,160 crore.

Under the Hybrid Annuity Model, the government shares the project risk with the private developer, with part of the project cost paid during the construction phase and the remaining amount disbursed as annuities over the concession period. The construction period for the project is set at 730 days, after which the company will undertake operations and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities for a period of 15 years.

The highway corridor is considered strategically important for Bihar, as it is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and enhance road safety standards. By facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers, the upgraded highway is likely to contribute to improved logistics efficiency and support broader economic development in the region.

Commenting on the development, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ceigall India, said the project aligns with the government's PM Gati Shakti vision of integrated and multimodal infrastructure development. He emphasised that strengthening national highway networks is critical for enhancing connectivity, boosting logistics performance and accelerating economic growth.

Ceigall India Limited is an infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company engaged in the development of highways, expressways, bridges, flyovers, railway overbridges, tunnels and runways. The new order further strengthens the company's order book and reinforces its presence in the road infrastructure segment, particularly in northern and eastern India, where the government continues to prioritise highway expansion and connectivity upgrades.
