Godrej Properties Ltd has launched a structured mental health and wellbeing initiative for construction workers across all its project sites, marking a significant expansion of its labour welfare measures. Branded as Godrej Sahyog, the programme follows the successful completion of a six-month pilot conducted across six construction sites in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The initiative is now being extended to 79 identified project sites, covering around 30,000 workers across key markets such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. Implemented in partnership with mental health services provider 1to1 Help, the programme includes on-site group sessions, individual counselling and a 24x7 helpline for crisis support. The company indicated that the initiative reflects its broader commitment to worker wellbeing across its construction ecosystem.

Godrej Properties Ltd has announced the rollout of a mental health and wellbeing programme for construction workers across its project sites, extending a pilot initiative into a nationwide labour welfare effort. The programme, titled Godrej Sahyog, has been designed as a structured intervention to address mental health challenges faced by workers in the construction sector.


According to the company, the initiative follows a six-month pilot that was carried out across six construction sites in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Based on the outcomes of the pilot phase, Godrej Properties has decided to scale the programme across 79 identified construction sites, with an estimated outreach of around 30,000 workers. The rollout will cover major real estate markets including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata, along with sites in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.

The programme is being implemented in collaboration with 1to1 Help, a provider of professional mental health services. As part of the initiative, workers will have access to monthly on-site group sessions focused on mental health awareness and stress management. In addition, personalised one-on-one counselling sessions will be offered to workers who require individual support.

A key component of the programme is the introduction of a round-the-clock audio-visual helpline, which will provide counselling services and crisis intervention support. The company stated that the helpline is intended to ensure timely assistance for workers dealing with emotional distress, anxiety or other mental health concerns, particularly in high-pressure construction environments.

Godrej Properties indicated that the initiative reflects a broader effort to integrate wellbeing measures into its construction operations. The company noted that the construction workforce plays a critical role in shaping urban infrastructure and that addressing mental health concerns is essential for creating safer and more supportive work environments.

Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties, stated that the country's growth is driven by millions of workers who build cities and infrastructure on a daily basis. He added that caring for the wellbeing of those workers goes beyond corporate responsibility and represents a wider societal obligation.

Industry observers note that mental health initiatives for construction workers remain limited across the real estate sector, despite the physically demanding and often stressful nature of the work. With the nationwide rollout of Godrej Sahyog, the company joins a small group of developers attempting to institutionalise mental health support within large-scale construction operations.
