Synopsis

Indian Potash Limited has been recognised for its import performance at two major Indian ports on the occasion of International Customs Day 2026. The fertiliser major was conferred the Top Importer award for FY 2025-26 at Kandla Port, while also receiving an Appreciation Certificate at Visakhapatnam Port for being among the highest-performing public sector importers during 2025. The accolades, presented by senior officials from the Customs Department, highlight IPL's scale of operations, compliance standards and consistency in managing large import volumes. The dual recognition underlines the company's role in supporting India's agricultural supply chain through efficient port-led logistics and transparent trade practices across key maritime gateways.

Indian Potash Limited has secured significant recognition for its import operations after being honoured at both Kandla and Visakhapatnam ports during International Customs Day 2026. The awards, presented by the Customs Department, Government of India, reflect the company's operational scale, procedural discipline and sustained performance across critical logistics nodes.

At Kandla Port in Gujarat, Indian Potash Limited was named Top Importer for the financial year 2025-26. The award ceremony was held on 15 February 2026 at the IFFCO Auditorium in Gandhidham. The honour was presented by the Commissioner of Customs, Kandla, in the presence of the event's chief guest, a Padma Shri awardee from the Kutch region. The award was received on behalf of the company by a senior sales official from its Gujarat operations.

Separately, at Visakhapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh, Indian Potash Limited received an Appreciation Certificate recognising it as one of the highest-performing importers in the public sector category for the year 2025. The ceremony took place on 16 February 2026 at the Sagarmala Convention Hall in Salagramapuram. The certificate was presented by the Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam and accepted by a senior representative from IPL's port operations team.

According to the company, the twin recognitions underline its ability to manage high-volume imports while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements and customs procedures. IPL's port operations play a critical role in ensuring the timely movement of fertilisers, which are central to India's agricultural productivity and food security. Efficient handling at major ports such as Kandla and Visakhapatnam enables the company to maintain supply continuity across diverse regions.

Commenting on the honours, the managing director of Indian Potash Limited said the awards reflected the organisation's focus on operational excellence, compliance and reliability across its logistics and port interfaces. He noted that the recognition was a direct outcome of coordinated efforts by teams working at ports and logistics touchpoints nationwide.

The accolades further reinforce IPL's standing as a responsible public sector enterprise, contributing not only to agricultural inputs but also to India's broader trade and port ecosystem through transparent and process-driven import operations.
