Synopsis

Japanese aircraft interiors maker Jamco Corporation is set to establish a Product Engineering Centre in Bengaluru, marking a key expansion of its engineering and manufacturing footprint in India's aviation sector. The centre will focus on developing and manufacturing full-scale aircraft interior components for leading global airlines including Boeing and Airbus, underlining India's growing role in the aerospace supply chain. Company leaders noted that the investment deepens Jamco's long-term commitment to the region, supported by Karnataka's strong aerospace ecosystem and skilled workforce.

Japanese aircraft interiors manufacturer Jamco Corporation has announced plans to set up a Product Engineering Centre in Bengaluru to broaden its engineering presence in India's aviation market. The new facility will be designed to develop and manufacture full-scale aircraft interior components used by major global aviation companies such as Boeing and Airbus.

Representatives from Jamco, including its Chief Operating Officer Sanjeev Sen and Board Chair Kate Schaefer, held discussions with Karnataka's Industries Commissioner to finalise the investment details. Government officials highlighted that the availability of a large pool of skilled engineering talent and an established aerospace ecosystem in the state played an important role in Jamco's decision to invest.

The company stated that this expansion is part of its long-term commitment to Karnataka and reflects confidence in India's rapidly growing aviation market. Jamco also noted that the new centre will enhance its capabilities to manufacture globally certified aerospace products and support development of next-generation cabin innovations. Officials from the state government welcomed the announcement, pointing out that the investment reinforces Bengaluru's position as a key aerospace engineering hub and supports efforts to attract further global investments in the sector.

Industry observers say this move aligns with wider trends where global aerospace firms are increasing operations in India, leveraging Bengaluru's established ecosystem that already includes substantial manufacturing and engineering facilities from several multinational companies. The new Jamco centre is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen India's role in the global aerospace supply chain.
