The company has submitted a proposal to the Madhya Pradesh government to set up the unit on 15.60 acres within the Medical Equipment Park at Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain. Of this, 1.5 acres of land has already been acquired. ECDS's Indian director, Rajesh Bharadwaj, indicated that this facility will be the company's first factory in the country.
Construction activity is expected to begin within the year. The first phase of production is planned to commence by April 2027. During the initial phase, the company aims to generate employment for around 500 people, according to Bharadwaj.
The Ujjain project is being implemented through a 50:50 joint venture structure between ECDS and its three South Korean partners. The collaboration is expected to combine manufacturing expertise with advanced technology inputs.
Beyond the initial phase, the company has outlined expansion plans. An additional investment of INR 1,250 crore is proposed in the subsequent phase, to be deployed within three years from the start of commercial production.
