L&T Vyoma has started construction of a 40 MW green, AI-ready data centre in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, the first phase of a 100 MW campus. The facility will support enterprise, build-to-suit, and NeoCloud workloads with high-density computing for AI and critical applications. It will feature liquid cooling for thermal efficiency and integrate renewable energy for low-carbon operations. The project strengthens L&T Vyoma's colocation portfolio and aligns with its three-pillar strategy. It also forms part of a national expansion plan to achieve over 200 MW across major digital hubs.
Larsen & Toubro Vyoma, the digital infrastructure division of Larsen & Toubro, has begun construction of a 40 MW green, AI-ready data centre in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, marking the first phase of a planned 100 MW campus in the city. The company performed the ceremonial 'bhoomi pujan' for the project, though no specific completion timeline was shared.
The facility aims to establish new standards for sustainable and high-performance digital infrastructure in India, driven by the rapid expansion of the country's digital economy, including cloud adoption, AI workloads, and data localisation requirements.
Designed to support build-to-suit, enterprise, and NeoCloud workloads, the Navi Mumbai data centre will provide high-density computing capabilities for AI and mission-critical applications. The centre will incorporate Direct-to-Chip liquid cooling to efficiently manage heat from advanced AI workloads while maintaining scalability, resilience, and sustainability. Renewable energy integration is planned to ensure low-carbon operations.
L&T Vyoma's leadership highlighted the strategic significance of the project. The company emphasized that digital infrastructure is essential for national progress and that the Navi Mumbai facility reflects its commitment to building a sustainable, AI-ready ecosystem powered by domestic engineering capabilities.
The Mahape centre will enhance L&T Vyoma's colocation and build-to-suit portfolio, supporting its three-pillar strategy of hyperscale-ready campuses, AI-focused and sovereign cloud infrastructure, and comprehensive colocation services, including edge and disaster recovery solutions.
The project is part of L&T Vyoma's broader national expansion plan, targeting more than 200 MW of data centre capacity across India's major digital hubs, including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
