Synopsis

ACME Solar has started operations of a 68 MW wind energy capacity at its 100 MW project located in Surendranagar, Gujarat. The project is being developed in phases through its subsidiary, ACME Eco Clean Energy Pvt Ltd. The latest commissioning added 12 MW, taking the operational capacity to over two-thirds of the planned size. Power generated from the project will be sold under a long-term 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The project has received financial backing from Power Finance Corporation.

Renewable energy company ACME Solar has commenced operations of a 68 MW wind power capacity at its 100 MW project in Surendranagar district of Gujarat. The project is being commissioned in stages through its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Eco Clean Energy Pvt Ltd, as part of the company's broader wind energy expansion plans.

The latest phase of the project added 12 MW of capacity, increasing the total operational capacity to 68 MW. The remaining capacity is expected to be commissioned in subsequent phases, in line with the company's execution schedule. Once fully operational, the project will contribute to Gujarat's renewable energy supply and support long-term clean power commitments.

Electricity generated from the wind project will be sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement signed between ACME Eco Clean Energy and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, the state-owned power procurement agency. Long-term PPAs such as this provide revenue visibility and are a key part of renewable project financing and viability.

The wind project has been financed by Power Finance Corporation, a central public sector lender that has played a major role in funding power and renewable energy infrastructure across India. The financing reflects continued institutional support for wind and hybrid renewable projects.

Gurugram-based ACME Solar Holdings Limited operates as an integrated renewable energy company with interests across solar, wind, energy storage, firm and dispatchable renewable energy, and hybrid solutions. Over the years, the company has expanded its presence across multiple states, aligning with India's renewable capacity addition targets.

ACME Solar currently has an operational capacity of 2,958 MW, while projects totaling 4,562 MW are under construction. This includes around 15 GWh of battery energy storage system installations, indicating the company's growing focus on grid stability and round-the-clock renewable supply.
