Navi Mumbai International Airport has achieved a major milestone by crossing 1 lakh passengers within 19 days of starting commercial flights. Handling over 1,09,900 passengers, the airport's busiest day saw 7,345 travelers. During this period, 734 flights operated, including general aviation movements, while more than 79,000 pieces of baggage were processed. Cargo operations began simultaneously, with 22.21 tonnes handled. Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru emerged as the top destinations. The airport is gradually scaling operations, supported by modern infrastructure and efficient processes to meet the growing travel demand.
Navi Mumbai International Airport, backed by the Adani Group, has reported handling over 1 lakh passengers in less than three weeks since it began commercial flight operations. By mid-January, the airport recorded a total of 1,09,917 passengers, including 55,934 arrivals and 53,983 departures. The busiest day during this period saw 7,345 passengers travel through the airport, marking a strong start for the new facility.
The airport began commercial passenger services on December 25 last year and currently has the capacity to serve 20 million passengers annually. In the first 19 days, it managed 734 aircraft movements, which included 32 general aviation flights. Passenger luggage was also efficiently handled, with 40,260 bags arriving and 38,774 departing during this period.
Cargo operations started alongside passenger services, with 22.21 tonnes of cargo processed, reflecting the airport's integrated approach from the beginning. The most popular routes in the early phase of operations were to Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru.
Navi Mumbai International Airport continues to expand its operations gradually, leveraging modern infrastructure and streamlined processes to ensure operational efficiency while meeting growing travel demand in the region.
